Reparations. Will Austin make the next Call?

With all the talk and action going on in recent month about reparations, I want to know what the Black Communities concerns are about reparations. The African American News & Issues desires to be your link to voice your word. E-mail me here in Austin at Maurice.youmans@greatercalvary.org or at aframnewsaustin@pdq.net Please keep comments and concerns to one page minimum, but by all means EXPRESS YOURSELF.
There are rally’s, community forums, conferences, all over this great state, have you been apart of any? Have you involved yourself in the fight for not only equality, but for justice?
I challenge the Black Community, to express yourself…. write and email me. Let your voice be heard.
Rev. Richard Lands, one Reparations Rally organizers here in Austin states, “I think Austin should be one of the cites on the forefront of the Reparations Movement. I think we should be going to the City Council and the Legislature and understand that we must move past making resolutions. We must understand that we can’t get Reparations from the folks that owe us reparations. We are going to have to apply sanctions, against these folks. I don’t know if we can sue the government, but if that is an option then that is what we need to do. Again it is fine to make resolutions, but the only way we are going to get it is to apply sanctions just like the government applied sanctions on South America, Korea and Iraq and others. We need to get the same thing going as far as reparations is concerned.”
