Everlasting love defines Moores’ 55th Anniversary

Fifty-five years ago, while they were both filled with the blazing fire of youth, Oscar met Joyce. Joyce’s dazzling lure and Oscar’s magnetic vigor were clear in dictating Wedding Bells. Oscar and Joyce responded and were married on March 25, 1949. In spite of Oscar’s pretended agony and Joyce’s great ability to ignore him, they have successfully parented three wonderful children, became grandparents to six and great grandparents to one. All of these children have been blessed to be Oscar and Joyce’s children. Their children are Rodney and wife Shelia their children Tandra and Shawnta and the wonderful great grandson Devin, Brenda Joyce and her children Javier and Danielle and Cheryl Ann and her husband Robert and their children Jonathan and Cecilee. Both Oscar and Joyce are extremely great lovers of their children.

Oscar is a graduate of Phillis Wheatley and a loyal and faithful member of the Wheatley Alumni Association, Class of 1948. Oscar retired from the United States Postal Services after forty-two years of service. Parallel with his career as a Postal Clerk Oscar became an extremely successful entrepreneur. His family is greatly blessed by his wisdom, his energy and his efforts. He is indeed the Great Patriarch of his clan. He is a longtime member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church, a great supporter and serves on several committees at Blue Ridge Baptist Church.
Joyce is a graduate of Jack Yates and a member of the Chenelle Social and Charity Club. Joyce retired from Houston Independent School District after thirty-two years of service. She is an active member and supporter of Crossroad Community Church.

Mr. & Mrs. Moore are greatly loved and highly respected in their community. They have traveled extensively and have explored the continents of Africa, North and South America, Asia and Europe. As a family, they have traveled every region of the United States. In February, the couple was surprised with a 55th Anniversary cruise. With immense anticipation, the family awaits what’s on the horizon for their next travel excursion. The “Emerald Couple” without hesitation deserves the title “Globe Trotters.”
