Daphne Hampton and the Taking Care of Our Own Foundation will be hosting their 2nd Anniversary Celebration on June 14, 2003, 6pm at Disciples United Methodist Church located at 12410 Hillcroft in Houston. The theme of this years' celebration is "One for the Father, One for the Son, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done". The guest speaker will be Pastor Kenneth Senegal of the Perfecting Praise Church. The event will be extra special as the men will take care of the women and perform in the ceremony. The celebration will include testimonies, a solo by Stephen Doze and praise dancing by Silent Word Praise Dancers, A&M Productions featuring youth praise dancer Anson Johnson and much more. Come and celebrate a great year that has been full of helping others and reaching out in God's name.

The Y2L National Summit will bring together over 1,000 youth for a five day summit on “Redefining the Image: Preparing Black Youth for Leadership.” The summit will be held at Catholic University of America from August 7th to 12th. There is a nominal registration fee for participants, ranging from $425 to $500; this includes accommodations, meals, and summit activities. Though sponsorships and in-kind support we are making this conference affordable for all to attend. The event is sponsored by the Tavis Smiley Foundation.
