increase student academic achievement through the use of technology, provide professional
development to increase teachers use of technology, and to increase the productivity of
the community through the use of technology.
We have joined partnership with the Houston Community College Northeast, campus
with Dr. Margaret Forde, the Acres Home Center for Business and Economic Development
Corporation with Roy Douglas Malonson and with the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center with
Patricia Lindsey to assist students and residents in the Acres Home Community. The award
to the Williams Technology Department will bridge the divide, said Henderson.

will not only be beneficial to the students of M.C. Williams but also to the
community.
The Acres Homes Multi-Service Center will be an additional site where community residents
are given the opportunity to use the computers with Internet access.
State Representative Sylvester Turner who was instrumental in writing the bill for the
telecommunications center said, This is an exciting time. We want them to read,
write, add and analyze and at the same time we want them (students) to be excited about
learning. We want whatever is given in any other part of this city, offered here in Acres
Home. Lets move forward. The vision only gets broader and I think were making
some tremendous things happen. I salute the leadership here in Acres Home. Mr. Henderson I
salute you and the principal for an outstanding job thats taken place in the life of
Acres Home.
Malonson says, If you are given the proper opportunities and proper resources all
children can learn. The press conference ended with encouraging words to the
