Combating everyday prejudices

DALLAS – Larry Jarrett, J.D. of the U.S. Attorney’s Office will be presenting two free lectures called C.O.P.E.-Combating Our Prejudices Everyday. The first lecture will be offered Wednesday, October 23, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church at 9200 Inwood Road in Dallas. The second lecture will be offered Thursday, October 24, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at Richland College-Neches Hall, 12800 Abrams Road, also in Dallas.

Free CEUs are available, including three hours for LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LCDC and ethics, and 3.6 Type 2 CEUs for RNs.

The C.O.P.E. lectures give information on eliminating minority stereotypes, reducing racially motivated hostility and encouraging broader intercultural understanding and appreciation.
