Cliffdale Baptist celebrates
pastor and wife’s anniversary

Members of Cliffdale Baptist Church, 854 Enterprise,
celebrated the 5th anniversary of their pastor and wife on September 15. The theme for
this service was “A Chosen Vessel Ordained To Duty” (Matthew 12:18). The guest
minister and congregation was Rev. Edwin Davis of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
The presiding minister was Rev. E. Montgomery and the mistress of ceremony was Sister
Regina Manning. Rev. and Sister Fred Sanders, III was escorted by Rev. and Sister Lawrence
McGregor. There were words of encouragement by Hosea Harris of the Acres Home C.D.C and
Roy Douglas Malonson of the Acres Home Citizens Chamber of Commerce.
There were presentations given to the pastor and first lady during the celebration.
“I have served as shepherd since 1997 to the flock of God’s people who comprise
the Cliffdale Baptist Church of Houston,Texas. Be patient, God is not through with us yet.
Even though it’s hard to smile through the pain brought on by life’s trials and
tribulations, it’s best to just hold on to God’s unchanging hand. That way we
will see everyone and everything for whom and what they are and maybe that’s all God
really wanted us to see anyway. May God bless our friends from far and near, who have come
to share with us at this time. All we can say is that we love you and you can’t do
nothing about it,” stated Pastor Sanders.
Along with Pastor Davis ad the Galilee Church, the Cliffdale Baptist Church Family gave
special thanks to Rev. B. Peavy and Yorkdale M.B.C., Rev. F. Kindley and Gt. Progressive
M.B.C., Rev. Wade and Providence M.B.C, Rev. E. Stewart and Greater New Grove Worship
Center, Rev. G .Peavy and First Baptist Church, and Rev. Pierceson and Miracle House of
Prayer Deliverance Center.
Committee members who worked hard to bring this occasion to fruition were Minister E.
Montgomery and Sis. R. Manning, pastor’s aide; Sis. R. Manning and the Martin Family,
decoration committee; Peggy Williams and the Montgomery Family, gift committee; and Peggy
Williams, Diane Montgomery, Cecilia Henderson, cafeteria committee.
