Author John Bradshaw to visit Dallas

DALLAS, Texas - John Bradshaw has been called “America’s leading personal growth expert.” The author of five New York Times bestsellers, Brudshaw On The Family, Healing the Shame That Binds You, Homecoming, Creating Love, and Family Secrets, his books have sold over four million copies in North America.

He created and hosted four nationally broadcast PBS television series based on his best-selling books. The Meadows Institute presents: John Bradshaw, MA, “Recovery of Innocence” on Saturday, September 21, 2002 from 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. Bradshaw, using the work of Slavin and Kriegman in their book “The Adaptive Design of the Human Psyche,” will discuss how the psyche has innate preexisting attributes.

These attributes are repressed in the forming of a shame-based identity and can be discovered only by embracing the shame we feel. The revolution of our “true self’ lies in the darkness of our shame-based self. This revelation is the “Recovery of Innocence” that leads us to a revolutionary place.
