Cart’ Air Boutique and Couture Designs

In 1986 the dream of Cart’Air Boutique began at 3609 Plaag Street, Houston, Texas. In January, 1991 as it began to blossom and clientele increased, Carolyn and Charles Land of Cart’Air Boutique moved to its' first strip center location at 2128 Cedar Drive, in La Marque, Texas. In November 1999, with customer appeal and business expansion, “Cart’Air Couture Designs” Signature store opened at 8134 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Land’s vision was to create a business that portrayed a unique image of designer fashions, jewelry, millinery and shoes. Cart’Air Boutique and Cart’Air Couture Designs offer only the finest in ladies fashions and accessories for the discerning 21st Century woman. The Lands travel coast to coast to acquire ladies fashions and accessories to provide their customers with a signature look. Each store provides a stylish ambiance.
As a part of their business mission and objective of Carolyn the need to support community initiatives has been placed in the forefront of their vision. The expansion of Cart’Air Couture Designs serves as a beacon light in the economic revitalization for a community destined with a new purpose, goal and objective.

The Lands unselfishly contribute to the community through many inspirational projects. On September 30, 2000 they sponsored their 1st Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon at The Grand Room located at 4442 Kelly Street, Houston, Texas. This event accomplished a two-fold purpose, first it allowed support of another community entrepreneur, The Grand Room and permitted money to go towards the expansion of Day Cares in the community. In short, they hosted their 2nd Fashion Show and Luncheon at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church located at 4711 Kelly Street, Houston, Texas. At this particular affair, many of Houston’s first ladies of local churches served as models. Some of the proceeds from this function were given to homeless shelters in the Heights. Even though the Lands were victims of the Allison storm at their home and business, they were still able to meet the needs of others. After that tragedy they gave assistance by purchasing school uniforms and school supplies for several students.

They are now gearing up for the Third Fashion Show and Luncheon. This year, it will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. at The Enchanted Courtyard, 6701 Homestead Road. Tickets are available at either location. The Lands will continue to focus on the allocation of dollars to projects that promote community revitalization and economic enhancement. As they continue to aspire to achieve excellence as responsible citizens of society, funds from this year’s event will be disseminated to local charitable and qualified educational institutions as well as local churches youth organizations and groups.

Over the years they have received numerous accolades, awards, and recognitions. They are members of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Inc., 4812 Bennington Street in Houston, where Rev. F.D. Sampson, Pastor. The Lands who believe they have been blessed with an overflow of blessings follow the scripture, “Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of thy heart.”

They are the parents of four children – Natalia, Craig, Lawrence and Reginald; they also have seven grandchildren. Call 713/694-0011 or 409/938-0209 for more information.
