PALESTINE - The Single Parent Family Retreat Committee will hold its annual Single Parent Family Retreat at Lakeview Methodist Center, Hwy 294, just south of Palestine, Texas, between US-79 and Elkhart, Texas. It will be held during the weekend of October 11,12, and 13, 2002 and families for the entire weekend or for Saturday’s events only.
This retreat has been an annual event, usually held in March, but was changed to October for 2002. Single Parent Family Retreat offers excitement and fun-filled activities for the entire family especially for those looking for a great time with the kids and an opportunity to get-away.
This is a retreat for fun, relaxation, and spiritual growth. There will be clowns, motorcycles, singing by the bonfire, and the singing voices of the Atascocita Praise Team.
In addition, there will be individual workshops for parents, children, and teenagers. Family workshops will be included this year.

Some of the workshops center around storytelling and musical praise for the children, building positive peer relationships and the David Barber Challenge Course for the teenagers; and spiritual gifts and home safety for the adults. A fully equipped nursery operated by experienced and certified staff will be available for both infants and toddlers.
For Saturday only activities, the parent cost is $40 and children (over one year old) cost is $15. For the entire weekend, the parent cost is $80 and children (over one year old) cost is $35.
