Texas Southeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction holds 30th annual Holy Convocation in Houston

The Texas Southeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction held its 30th Annual Holy Convocation August 4-10. This Jurisdiction is under the leadership of Bishop Rufus Kyles, Jr. who was consecrated as the Jurisdiction Prelate last February by the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., Bishop G.E. Patterson.

Held annually, this Holy Convocation is where classes are held to teach different areas of ministries in the church and nightly anointed services with guest evangelists, Bishops and elders as speakers. This year’s convocation theme was, “Soaring To Higher Dimensions With Near Directives.”

The services began with an Evangelism service on Sunday night at the North Main Church of God in Christ, Elder Willie Collins- host pastor. On Monday night, the convention moved to the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel with a Convention Musical. On Tuesday night, the guest speaker was the Second Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Bishop J. Neaul Haynes of Dallas, Texas.

On Wednesday night, the guest speaker was Evangelist Rance Allen of Toledo, Ohio. On Thursday night, the guest speaker was Evangelist Tammie Gibson of Riverside, California. On Friday night, the guest speaker was Supt. Derrick Hutchins, the National Chairman of the Council of Pastors and Elders of the Church of God in Christ, from Orlando, Florida; and Saturday the convocation culminated with the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Rufus Kyles, Jr., as the speaker.

Each day consisted of morning prayer, and leadership seminars taught by Elders Donald Rudison and Ronald Eagleton. In the evening there were guests form Phoenix, Arizona who taught marriage seminars, and seminars on grants for churches and monies available to churches.

Classes were held Wednesday- Friday for First Ladies, taught by the First Lady of the Jurisdiction Louisa Kyles; Superintendents taught by Supt. Destry Bell; Supervisor of Women, Mother Millie Howard taught the women of her cabinet and leaders of the Women Department. The Youth had nightly services and there were over 500 present in their services.

The Jurisdiction had the largest delegation and registration ever with over 200 delegates staying in the Wyndham Hotel dining together daily for breakfast and dinner. There were over one 1,000 registrations for the convocation.

The Lord blessed in a miraculous way in every service. All of the classes were informative and educational and the saints left “soaring to higher dimensions with new directives.”
Bishop Kyles stated, “We are moving to another level as we soar to higher dimensions with the directives the Lord has given me for the Jurisdiction. We are excited about what the lord has done, is doing and is going to do for Texas Southeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.”
