Philips School and Community Center joins with The Scholarship Fund to provide
educational opportunities for youth
St. Philips
School and Community Center in partnership with The Scholarship Fund is pleased to assist
in providing opportunities to youth to continue their education beyond high school. Isaiah
Carswell and Braylon Coulter have been awarded college scholarships by The Scholarship
Fund, a non-profit organization founded by attorney and CPA Hank Alterman.
Isaiah Carswell, a graduate of the Lincoln High School class of 2002 has been accepted to
South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina and has received a full
scholarship. The scholarship awarded to Isaiah is designed to offset the cost of travel
for Isaiah for the next four years of his education. A resident of South Dallas, Isaiah
will pursue music and fashion design.
Braylon Coulter, graduate of the class of 2002 of Lancaster High School, will attend
Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas this fall to pursue a degree in Business
Administration. These students were participants in the College Bound but Worry Free
Program, a program that provides SAT classes and workshops for college preparation
monthly, and is sponsored by St. Philips School and Community Center. Call
