Inasmuch as the world renowned Texas Southern University Debate Coach Dr. Thomas F. Freeman is a most unique and unusual person, you certainly should expect for events at a church he pastors to be unique and that’s exactly the kind of revival that will be held at Mt. Horem Baptist Church, 1950 Lockwood, at 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday - Friday, August 14-16, 2002.
If you have ever attend a revival at Mt. Horem, a small church (by comparison to surrounding major Black churches), you certainly will agree that you must come early if you expect to sit through the standing room only services that many of Dr. Freeman’s past and current TSU students travel great distances to attend.

Needless to say that many of Dr. Freeman’s former students have become outstanding pastors and preaches themselves. In fact, the featured Evangelist, Rev. Harvey Clemons, Jr., pastor of Pleasant Hill BC, grew up on Harlem Street which runs behind Mt. Horem and regularly attended services there as a youth.
