Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 2477 Areba, gave its Pastor Robert L. Hudspeth and its first family heartfelt and sincere thanks for 34 years of leadership with services from July 7 -28. Gethsemane’s Youth Department set the tone for the celebration when they told their leader, “You’re The Coolest” on their special night.

The Youth night held on July 25 featured guest ministers Pastor Leroy Ford, of New Macedonia MBC and Pastor R.D. King of First Christian MBC. Also joining Gethsemane MBC to pay tribute to Pastor Hudspeth and his wife Sister Willie Mae was evangelist Rev. Patterson, Pastor F. Saul (New Rock of Ages MBC), Pastor Chester Speights (Christ Temple MBC), Pastor G. Walker (New Hope MBC), Pastor Henry Eldridge, Jr. (Christ’s Way MBC), Pastor Leon Jones (Powerlight MBC), Pastor James Tucker (Christian Way MBC), and Pastor A. W. Thompson, of St. Paul MBC.
Members of Gethsemane participating included: Sis. Olivia Crump, Rev. L. Fields, Deacon C. Williams and Deacon David L. Hudson. Kudos are also due Sisters Maxine Doswell, Cynthia Hudson, Rosa McClenon and Deacon Charles Williams, who served on the Food Committee. Gethsemane’s Jubilee Choir and music department should also take a well-deserved bow for their spirit-filled singing.
