T.W. Sloan becomes pastor of St. Luke MBC

Rev. Timothy Wayne Sloan is the new Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Humble. He began his new position on May 19. For the last three years, Sloan has cultivated relationships with members of the faith community through his role as Director of Interfaith Relations for Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM). Sloan, a native of Sherman, Texas recently served as associate minister at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, 3826 Wheeler. Ave. He is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.

He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformative Leadership at Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and married to Sonya M. Sloan, M.D.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church is located at 8906 Humble Westfield Road. Installation Services will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2002 at the Humble Civic Center, 8233 Will Clayton at 3:00 p.m. Rev. William A. Lawson, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate.
