Women Achieving Independence and Financial Success holds annual gala kick off

The Annual Gala Kick Off benefiting WAIFS, “Women Achieving Independence and Financial Success,” will be held Saturday, August 3, 2002 at 6:00p.m. at Brady’s Landing. Rev. Rosemary Behrens will do a presentation on WAIFS, its history and its plans for the future, including the launching of a building campaign for this non-profit 501C3 organization that “Empowers Self Esteem” for women, in the East Harris County area.

The primary mission of WAIFS is to provide the necessary self-motivational skills to increase the potential for success. Through self improved motivational skills they improve self-esteem and self-confidence making the achievement of self-set goals more attainable.

Through seminars, individual program participation, and mentoring, participants will improve their ability to set and realize their goals. Each month, on the fourth Saturday, there is a four hour Discovery Workshop (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) with a variety of guest speakers providing information on topics related to self-esteem, self-confidence, job skills, personal skills, financial skills and other varied topics.
