George Foreman Youth Center gives students summer transformation

George Foreman, former heavy Weight Boxing Champion of the world and now minister of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, extended an invitation to the youth of the community to spend the summer under the instructions of his youth camp coordinators and staff. The George Foreman Youth and Community Center is located at 2202 Long Oak Street, in Houston, Texas.

The youth center is under the auspices of Director Jadrian Mitchell, Associate Director Carolyn Hampton and Drill Instructor Bill Ford. Ford who has a military background vows that by the end of the summer, these young people will be presented and introduced to a reasonable amount of discipline in their lives.
The curriculum will involve reading, exercising, computer training, field trips, speaking clearly, posture and introduction to different cultures. Part of the curriculum includes good manners. They will be taught the art of saying “yes sir, no ma’am, thank you and please” to the point that it will become a part of their daily lives. The staff’s hope is that at completion of the camp, they will have produced better and more productive citizens.
