Friendship honors pastor

Pastor’s Aide Day has always been a major event at Friendship MBC, 4812 Bennington and it certainly was on June 23 when Pastor F.D. Sampson and his family were feted. Rev. G. J. West, pastor of King Solomon BC in Kansas City, Kansas, was the featured speaker at the morning services, during which Bro. Donald gave tribute to the pastor.

Sis. Cynthia Iles delivered the tribute to the pastor’s wife and others on the morning program included Sisters Samantha Draper and Tomisha Johnson.
Friendship MBC’s Pastor’s Aide Day culminated with a tribute from Rev. James Robinson. Sis. Linda Robinson paid tribute to the pastor’s wife and the sermon was delivered by Rev. Harvey Clemons, Jr., pastor of Pleasant Hill BC, 1510 Pannell @ Lyons Ave. Also on the program were Sisters Nicole Prince and Nakia Jackson.

CBC Network seeks to bring together area churches, businesses and communities

“Year after year, CBC Network will be regarded as the best and most sought after networking event promoter in Houston, Texas,” according to its founders.
This is the vision of the CBC Network, founded by Alfred and Sharon Porter in February 2002. CBC Network’s purpose is to bring people together from area churches, businesses and communities through communication and events. Among the many plans for the CBC Network are a periodic newsletter, networking events, business discussion, forums, and holiday celebration.

The initial response to the CBC Network has been tremendous. The introduction of the newsletter, its features and plans, are sure to be one of the most effective measures of communication that CBC will offer. The newsletter will offer a Feature Story, Church Corner, Community Digest, “What’s New?” Business Education, and advertisements.
The purpose of the newspaper is to pass on vital information and to keep the network “connected.” For those people who know the importance of networking, this is something to be extremely excited about.

The success of CBC Network Depends on its mission to help strengthen families, empower lives, enhance leaders and develop economic independence by promoting communications and events fostering Christian Discipleship, business entrepreneurship and community fellowship.

CBC Network is issuing an open and ongoing invitation to individuals to share ideas and knowledge. “Working together, we can fulfill our mission,” said Sharon.
