Cedar Crest home to Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce 13th annual golf tournament
 

Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce will host the Pepsi Cola/DBCC 13th Annual Open Golf Tournament. The event will be held on Monday, June 3, 2002 at the Cedar Crest Golf Course located at 1800 Southerland Avenue in Dallas, site of the 1927 PGA Championship.

The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce invites golfers throughout the metroplex to join them for a fantastic day of fun. Early registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. followed by an 8:00a.m. shotgun. Following play, a buffet lunch will be provided while the golf pro identifies the top ten winning teams.

The luncheon will feature the raffle of items, such as two round trip tickets on American Airlines to any destination in the contiguous 48 states, two round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines anywhere they fly and a long list of other great prizes.

Pepsi Cola’s Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce 13th Annual Open GolfTournament supports the efforts of the Excellence In Education Program which provides scholarships to graduating minority high school students. During the 5th Annual Excellence In Education Scholarship Awards Luncheon held on April 19 at the Dallas Convention Center, 36 graduating seniors from the Dallas area were awarded scholarships.

Local celebriry golfer, Leonard Jones, head pro at the Cedar Crest Golf Course and L.B. Houston Golf Course, will join them again this year. Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce
