Houston Area Education Elections to be held May 4
Saturday, May 4, 2002, elections are scheduled for the following districts. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

NORTH HARRIS
MONTGOMERY COMMUNITY
COLLEGE DISTRICT TRUSTEE ELECTION

The Board of Trustees of North Harris Montgomery Community College District (NHMCCD) will hold an election on Saturday, May 4, 2002 for the purpose of electing four trustees to serve on the nine-member board.
Four positions are up for election. Positions 3,6, and 9 are held by Stephanie Marquard, Maria Flotte O'Neill and Priscilla Kelly respectively, all of whom have all filed as candidates and are unopposed. John E. Fox is the incumbent in Position 4 and has filed as a candidate. Although district resident Ken Thornton filed an application to run against Fox for Position 4, he has since submitted a letter withdrawing from the race and declaring his intent to decline the position if he were to win the election. Legally, Thornton's name must still appear on the ballot as his letter was received after the withdrawal deadline.

NORTH FOREST ISD TRUSTEE ELECTION
Three North Forest Independent School District Trustees are vying for re-election. A crowded 14 hopefuls are trying to fill the three positions.
Position#1 Incumbent is April Elmore; other candidates are Cynthia Kay Bailey, Annette D. Hicks, James Homer Leonard and Ceaser Moore, Sr.
Position#2 Incumbent is Fran Gentry; other candidates are Doretha Diane Bailey, Albert Earl Coleman, Lois M. Edwards, Robin Yevette German-Curtis and Patricia Ann Malard-McFarland.
Position#3 Incumbent is Barbara Gaston; other candidates are Rev. Ross McKinley Cullins, Sr. and Mae Helen Sykes.
Some election day polling places have changed. They are as follows: Precinct 2 (Harris County voting precincts 0115, 0150, 0205, 0371, 0585, 0832 and 0724) from Lakewood Elementary School to R.E. Kirby Middle School, 9709 Mesa Drive.
Precinct 5 (Harris County voting precincts 0151, 0230, 0611 and 0583 from Forest brook High School to Shadydale Elementary School, 5905 Tidwell Rd.
Other polling places and precincts are: East Houston Intermediate School, 8115 East Houston, Rd., (0007, 0401 and 0784); Keahey Intermediate School, 6200 Winfield, (0104, 0497, 0584, and 0656); Hilliard Elementary School, 6511 N. Wayside, (0042, 0253, 0581 and 0582); and Rogers Elementary School, 10550 J.L. Reaux, 0252, 0254, 0396 and 0454.

ALDINE ISD SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
The Aldine ISD Board of Education approved an election call during its Feb. 26 meeting for Position 1 and Position 2.
Position 1 is held by Marine Jones, who was appointed to the board to fill the unexpired term of former board member Doug Bussey. Bussey retired from the board in November of 2001 because he moved out of the district. Jones worked in Aldine ISD for 38 years and has been an Aldine resident for 28 1/2 years. Vying for the Position 1 seat is Joe Nailor. Nailor is in the insurance business. He has been a resident of Aldine ISD for 18 years.
Position 2 is held by Emmett W. Hill. Hill has served on the board since 1991 and currently serves as board vice president. He has held all four offices and chaired numerous board committees.
The Aldine ISD trustees election will be a joint election held in conjunction with the North Harris Montgomery Community College District trustees election.
